Challenge #1: Maze (Version 1/31/2012)

In this challenge, the robot needs to navigate its way through the maze as fast as it can. The lower your time, the better the score. You may decide which side of the maze to start from. (Pieces: PVC Pipes and Connectors)

Challenge #2: Skee-Ball challenge (Version 2/14/2012)

In this challenge, the robot must kick the ball up the ramp and get it into the first goal or get the ball into the second goal. The lower goal is worth 2 points for every ball you score. The higher goal is worth 4 points for every ball you score. Each team will get 5 balls. The ball must start at least 5 inches away from the ramp. It can be placed freely on the floor or on a small pieces to hold it up. (Pieces: Ramp, Green Ball, Zip Ties, Black Screen)

Challenge #3: Ping-Pong Ball Challenge (Version 2/14/2012)

In this challenge, each team is given 90 seconds to pick up the ping-pong balls and put them in the high goal. You can also scoop the ping-pong balls out of the box. If you score in the high goal, you get 5 points per ping pong ball. If you scoop the balls out of the box, you get 1 point for every ping-pong ball you get out of the box. Note, the robot and ping-pong balls can start anywhere in the box as long as they aren't touching. (Pieces: 10 Ping Pong Balls, Black PVC Reducer and White PVC Coupler, 5" PVC Pipe)

Note: Because each challenge requires different skills and motors, it is highly recommended that at least 3 different robots are made. This allows students to focus their robot construction on accomplishing a single task.
